The dude over at terribleminds invited his readers to pimp a book that makes them squeesplode. One, awesome term. Two, I immediately spent the rest of walking my dogs thinking over what books gave me a little squeegism. And then I realized that I had a pile of them, a pile of books that brought squees out as I opened their boxes and I hadn’t let myself read them yet. As soon as my book is at the editor (I am querying now), I’ll be having the book reading fest of all time!!!!!. What books are they you ask?
Well let me tell you:
1.) Speaking From Among the Bones by Alan Bradley
2) Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor
3.) We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson
4.) The Girl Who Fell Beneath Fairyland and Led the Revels There by Catherynne Valente
5. The Diviners by Libba Bray
6.) Poison Princess by Kresley Cole
7.) The entire new Olympians series by Rick Riordan
8.) Who Could That Be at This Hour by Lemony Snicket
So…not only do I expect these books to make my books of the year for 2013, I find myself amazed as I look at the list that I haven’t already gobbled them and that I have had the self-control to wait for them.
If you’re wondering, yes these are some of my very favorite authors. Yes, even though I haven’t read them, I highly recommend them. And yes, you should read the earlier books in the series if above was a book 2 or 3.
I anticipate one of the best reading weeks of my life. Right now, I’m jealous of my future self.

My biggest squee is always the new Louise Rennison. She never disappoints.
Oh, man, that has to be soonish too, yeah? I’ve got to preorder.
