Trying something new…

So, if you’ve seen my shelves, you know they’re bulging   I’m actually at the point where no more bookshelves will fit into my apartment and no more books will fit on my shelves.  😦

Clearly I need to move.  Especially since I’m not going to stop buying books….

White-Ikea-Bookshelves

Aren’t these lovely.  I need something like this.  Times 10.

Book stacks

This is my future if I don’t get a bigger place.

Many of my books, however, have not been read due to my reading by genre with whimsical changes.  I actually don’t get the people who buy a book read it, buy a book read it, repeat.  Weirdos…

I have, however, decided to try making a small list of books to read this month that forces me to read at least some of what I already own.  These are the books; we’ll see how I do.

We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson

A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray

The Last Chronicle of Barset by Anthony Trollope

Deathless by Catherynne Valente

Vessel by Sarah Beth Durst

The Pursuit of Love by Nancy Mitford

Cinder by Marissa Meyer

The Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens

Tarzan by Edgar Rice Burroughs

This list might seem long, but I’m partially through Tarzan, The Christmas Carol, Cinder, and We Have Always Lived in the Castle.  I actually expect to finish Tarzan, The Christmas Carol, and We Have Always Lived in the Castle today.  Also, The Last Chronicle of Barset and Deathless are audio books which are much easier for me to work through.

On a side note, TinyPants has been renamed SmileyPants now that her personality is showing through.  Even puking, she will smile at you.  She is the most genuinely happy baby I have ever seen though her heart breaks whenever you put her down.  So happy = being held.  Unhappy = not being held and, therefore, being caught up into the cold sad realm of loneliness.  It’s a joy to have her in my home.  Even with the nearly weekly doctor visits, the need to be held, and the illnesses.  Right now she has bronchiolitis and will cough until she pukes on you, meets your eyes, and smile at you because even post-puking, she’s just happy to be with you.

Well, we’ll see how I do with this list of books to work through.  I’m post sick myself, so writing has been delayed yet again.  FeistyPants and BoyBlue went home, and I let myself curl into books and mourn a bit.  Then my sister who has been helping me, got sick, delaying the ability to write again.  Then I got sick…so yes, I’m still working and I’m still focused on finishing These Lying Eyes and publishing it.  And I’m very happy with where it’s going, but I’m not there yet. Sooner or later people, I’m so close I can taste it.

If you want to read any of these with me, there’s nothing I love more than talking about books…
